Attention all goblins, gremlins, and bog-skulkers of the greater Bellingham swamplands.
Modern Urban Goblinoid Issue 1 is here.
MUG is a quarterly zine for goblins who live among the humans but never really fit in with them. Published out of a damp basement somewhere near Sehome Hill by your hosts Davey Mucklebones and Snotty Pimplin, two goblins who grew up on hardcore, black coffee, and stolen pizza crusts.
In this issue: Davey kicks off his Gob Gab column with a call for goblins and humans to stop repeating the past and start building something together. Trixie Splivens, our music columnist and frontwoman of Trixie Splivens and the Dick-Spliters, sits down with Sons of Nurnen in her Rock and Awe column to talk forty-three years of goblin/human hardcore punk. Snotty Pimplin weighs in on the performative behavior of humans toward goblins in his Nasty Thoughts column. Chef Boygrodie serves up a Manhattan Style Tuna Noodle Casserole in the Warren Buffét. And the classifieds are exactly what you’d expect from the local goblin singles scene.
Read the full issue free right here. Tell your cave mates. Tell your bog neighbors. Slide a copy under the bridge where that weird troll lives. MUG is for all of us.
New issues every quarter. Submissions welcome from any goblin, hobgoblin, or goblin-adjacent creature with something to say. Send your columns, rants, and questionable opinions to modernurbangoblinoid@gmail.com.
