Known for his creative compositions, Hawaii-based photographer, Twu Yong Tan, has been lighting up the world and people’s faces for several years. Twu is the owner of Picture Perfect Twurs, where he takes people on glorious sunrise and sunset hikes in the most beautiful places in the world and photographs them.

Besides being a loving father and supporting his son’s blossoming surfing career on Oahu’s beaches, Twu also enjoys traveling and visiting the world’s National Parks.

Twu shared with Slow-Goer a bit more about himself in the following interview:
Slow-Goer: Who are your biggest influences in your life?
Twu Yong Tan: My greatest inspirations have been my mom and dad because of their hard work.
SG: What got you into photography?
TYT: My own photography inspired me to grow as a photographer.
SG: What city and place were you born?
TYT: Khans, Malaysia
SG: When did you move to Hawaii?
TYT: I moved here in 1999 for University, and decided never to leave.
SG: What did you study at University?
TYT: Marketing.
SG: What are your top three places that you love traveling to and photographing?
TYT: I love Glacier National Park, Vietnam, and Utah as a whole.
SG: What do you like about sharing your photos with others?
TYT: Inspiration. I love giving people more ideas for their next projects.
SG: What is the place you wish to travel to and photograph the most that you’ve never been?
TYT: Iceland and New Zealand because of natural fire and ice.
